Important notes about this report: GMNA is providing the complete address for commercial and public areas only (11800 Rosser Rd is the park). State law forbids the DPD from distributing information involving either juvenile perpetrators or juvenile victims. For details on any service number in this report: go to https://www3.dallascityhall.com/publicdata/offense-search.html Then use the first eleven characters of the service number (e.g., 123456-2017) as the incident number.

“Police Incidents” is another great report and can be found at: https://www.dallasopendata.com/Public-Safety/Police-Incidents/qv6i-rri7/data_preview The report is extensive; using the filter options for “Year” and “Beat” to select the current year and Beat 555 will help narrow the results. The filter can be accessed via the horizontal lines next to each header.

Crime Watch Tools and Safety Tips

Do you know that the Dallas Police Department has a Crime Statistics Dashboard? https://dallaspolice.net/resources/pages/crime-reports.aspx

Look for the statistics concerning District 13 or Northwest. A link that may be of interest is the Interactive Crime Map at the bottom of the list.

The most prevalent crime in our neighborhood is theft from, or of, motor vehicles. We can help reduce this type of crime by locking vehicle doors, not leaving valuables in your vehicle (including your garage door opener), having adequate lighting around your home and driveway, trimming shrubbery to reduce places to hide, and installing security cameras.

If you have security cameras, please check into a service offered by the city of Dallas. This service informs the police that you have security cameras. It does not give the police access to your video. They may contact you to check your video for assistance in tracking suspects. You do have the option of giving the police direct access, but that is your choice. This website is: Connectdallas.org

You may have captured something on camera (a car moving slowly or stopping in the alley or people walking down the alley at 3 am). This could be helpful to the police without you even being aware of an incident in another part of the neighborhood. You can read an article about this program that was posted April 20, 2024, on dpdbeat.com.

Please report suspicious activity. If your security camera captures someone walking onto your property and trying to open your car door, gate, or shed, this should be reported. Statistics of attempts are important in determining where to provide police patrols. Call 3-1-1, use the 311 website, or download the Dallas 311 mobile app to your phone. The app gives you the opportunity to upload your video.
